Abigail Romney (b. 2000, Quito, Ecuador) is a painter whose work moves between the material and immaterial realms. She often centers hands in her compositions, drawn to their expressive potential and the ways they can communicate as powerfully as facial expressions. Growing up among the mountains of Quito also left a lasting imprint on her visual language; their forms and presence continue to surface in her work.
